Places of interest.

The Silberregion Karwendel is a holiday region of “PUR DIVERSITY” in the heart of Tyrol.

Achensee cable car

A ride on the Achenseebahn is a romantic and unforgettable experience. The Achenseebahn is one of the oldest steam cog railroads in the world. Today, the 180 horsepower thrills passengers with its time-honored Wilhelminian charm.

Old Town Schwaz

History, culture and shopping await you in one of the oldest cities in Europe! If you want to explore Schwaz on your own, the many parking options in the town center and on the outskirts within walking distance are the perfect place to start.

Tratzberg Castle

A visit to Tratzberg Castle is an exciting experience for children. Emperors, knights and other aristocratic previous owners of Tratzberg give a “personal” tour of the originally furnished Renaissance castle, which is over 500 years old, by means of a fascinating radio play.

Schwaz silver mine

The Schwaz silver mine invites you on an adventure trip underground into the past. The mountain chronicle reports that in 1420 the rich ore castles on the Falkenstein were opened and many foreign miners from Bohemia, Saxony and other German lands moved to Schwaz.

Zillertalbahn

Jenbach is the starting point of the Zillertalbahn. It is one of the most famous narrow-gauge railroads (760mm) still in operation. With its completion on July 31, 1902, the valley population in the Zillertal was provided with a transport and connection link to the main railroad in the Inntal valley that had been longed for long before the turn of the century.

Wolf Gorge

Wild and romantic rocky mountains, thundering waterfalls, emerald-green water and a magnificent panorama in healthy mountain air give visitors to Wolfsklamm Gorge an unforgettable experience. With its 354 steps and wooden bridges, the Wolfsklamm gorge is probably one of the most beautiful of its kind in the Alps.

Engalm

In the middle of the Tyrolean Karwendel mountains lies the alpine village of Eng. Nestled in the impressive mountain landscape of the largest nature reserve in the Northern Limestone Alps, the Eng-Alm has become a popular excursion destination and the starting point for many mountain hikes.

Museum Rablhaus

The Rablhaus on Weerberg is the first museum in the entire Alpine region to focus exclusively on the world of faith and superstition. From the polecat penis, labor bottles and weather blessings of yesterday to mascots, lucky stones and horoscopes today – irrational protective and healing devices have always been part of people’s lives.
